IP & Licensing

AIEP’s intellectual property is a combination of registered patents, a large open-source specification and software corpus, and a tiered licensing framework for commercial deployment.

Joint Venture — Twelve Licences

For organisations that qualify — silicon manufacturers, hyperscalers, frontier AI laboratories, global financial and healthcare infrastructure operators, and sovereign governments — a Joint Venture structure is available.

The JV instrument is a perpetual conditional licence: permanent, royalty-free access to the full AIEP specification stack and GENOME SDK across all products, services, and jurisdictions, without volume limit, in exchange for deployment commitment, distribution commitment, capital contribution, and full acceptance of the JV governance conditions.

The JV licence is not a transfer of intellectual property. All patent rights remain with the Protocol Owner.

CategoryQualifying profile
Silicon / Hardware A & BSoC manufacturers — different primary architectures
Cloud InfrastructureHyperscaler >$20B annual AI infrastructure revenue
Enterprise Software PlatformPlatform >50,000 enterprise customers

Flexibility Contract (AIEP-FC-001)

The GENOME SDK’s Flexibility Contract (AIEP-FC-001) defines the binding architectural constraint governing what operators may configure at each layer.

Licensed operators receive:

  • AIEP-FC-001 full text
  • Operator Policy Template
  • Capability Selection Guide
  • Constitutional Parameter Reference

The Flexibility Contract is not published on this site. It is included in all Tier 1 and above licence packages.

AIEP Certified claim

The claim “AIEP Certified” is a controlled designation. It may only be made by entities that:

  1. Hold a valid Tier 2+ licence in good standing
  2. Have completed the certification process and are listed on the AIEP Certification Registry
  3. Hold a current, unexpired CertificateHash issued by the registry

The claim may not be self-asserted. Use of the “AIEP Certified” claim without a valid registry entry constitutes a misrepresentation and a breach of licence terms. The Protocol Owner reserves the right to require removal of false certification claims and to pursue remedies accordingly.
