P262 — AIEP — Cross-Node Causal Edge Synchronisation Engine

Publication Date: 2026-04-12 Status: Open Source Prior Art Disclosure Licence: Apache License 2.0 Author/Organisation: Phatfella Ltd Schema: AIEP_OS_SPEC_TEMPLATE v1.0.1 — https://aiep.dev/schemas/aiep-os-spec-template/v1.0.1

Field of the Invention

[0001] The disclosure relates to synchronisation mechanisms for causal edges spanning partition boundaries in federated AI knowledge graph networks.

[0002] More particularly, the disclosure concerns a cross-node causal edge synchronisation engine for use within AIEP federation networks, defining how CausalEdges whose source and target WorldStateNodes reside in different node partitions are created, propagated, validated, and kept consistent across the federation.

Framework Context

[0003] This invention operates within an Architected Instruction and Evidence Protocol (AIEP) environment as defined in United Kingdom patent application number GB2519711.2, filed 20 November 2025, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.

Summary of the Disclosure

[0004] A computer-implemented cross-node causal edge synchronisation engine comprises: identifying CrossPartitionCausalEdges as CausalEdges where source_node and target_node reside in partitions owned by different federation nodes; routing CrossPartitionCausalEdge creation proposals to both authoritative nodes for bilateral validation — the edge is only committed once both nodes accept; assigning each CrossPartitionCausalEdge a dual-custody status requiring both owning nodes to hold a locally consistent copy; implementing a CausalEdgeSynchronisationProtocol triggered on any WorldStateNode update that propagates delta changes to all nodes holding CrossPartitionCausalEdges referencing the updated node; computing a CrossPartitionCausalConsistencyScore for each node pair as the ratio of synchronised-to-total cross-partition edge count; generating CausalEdgeDivergenceAlerts when CrossPartitionCausalConsistencyScore drops below a deployment-configured divergence_threshold; and providing a CausalEdgeReconciliationWorkflow that resolves divergent edge states through evidence-arbitrated comparison, routing unresolvable conflicts to the Inter-Sovereign Conflict Resolution protocol (P269).

[0005] The technical effect is modification of computing system behaviour by maintaining cross-node causal edge consistency in federated world state graphs, preventing node-local causal models from diverging undetected.

Claims

[0007] A computer-implemented method for cross-node causal edge synchronisation comprising: identifying and bilaterally validating CrossPartitionCausalEdges; propagating update deltas to all referencing nodes; computing CrossPartitionCausalConsistencyScores; generating CausalEdgeDivergenceAlerts; and executing CausalEdgeReconciliationWorkflows with conflict escalation.

[0008] A system for cross-node causal edge synchronisation comprising one or more processors and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions to execute the method of claim 1.
