P263 — AIEP — Sovereign Knowledge Node Authorisation Engine

Publication Date: 2026-04-12 Status: Open Source Prior Art Disclosure Licence: Apache License 2.0 Author/Organisation: Phatfella Ltd Schema: AIEP_OS_SPEC_TEMPLATE v1.0.1 — https://aiep.dev/schemas/aiep-os-spec-template/v1.0.1

Field of the Invention

[0001] The disclosure relates to authorisation and sovereignty enforcement mechanisms for knowledge nodes in federated AI networks.

[0002] More particularly, the disclosure concerns a sovereign knowledge node authorisation engine for use within AIEP federation networks, defining how individual AIEP nodes assert and enforce knowledge sovereignty — the right to govern which evidence artefacts, world state partitions, and inference outputs may be shared with peer nodes.

Framework Context

[0003] This invention operates within an Architected Instruction and Evidence Protocol (AIEP) environment as defined in United Kingdom patent application number GB2519711.2, filed 20 November 2025, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.

Summary of the Disclosure

[0004] A computer-implemented sovereign knowledge node authorisation engine comprises: defining a SovereigntyPolicy for each AIEP node comprising: knowledge_export_allow_list, knowledge_export_block_list, minimum_peer_trust_level, and export_requires_governance_approval flag; evaluating all outbound knowledge sharing requests (evidence artefact exports, world state partition reads, inference output transfers) against the SovereigntyPolicy before release; generating SovereigntyBlockRecords for blocked requests carrying: requesting_node_id, requested_resource_id, block_reason, and block_timestamp; when export_requires_governance_approval is set, routing large-scale export requests to a GovernanceApprovalWorkflow before execution; maintaining a SovereigntyAuditLog of all evaluated outbound knowledge requests; issuing SovereigntyViolationAlerts when a peer node attempts to access knowledge resources without a valid FederationLink or outside negotiated capability scopes; and enabling dynamic SovereigntyPolicy updates by authorised governance principals, with all policy change events appended to the SovereigntyAuditLog.

[0005] The technical effect is modification of computing system behaviour by enabling operator-controlled, auditable sovereignty enforcement over knowledge assets shared in federation networks, preventing unauthorised knowledge extraction.

Claims

[0007] A computer-implemented method for sovereign knowledge node authorisation comprising: evaluating outbound knowledge sharing requests against SovereigntyPolicies; generating SovereigntyBlockRecords; routing governance-flagged exports through GovernanceApprovalWorkflows; maintaining SovereigntyAuditLogs; issuing SovereigntyViolationAlerts; and supporting audited dynamic policy updates.

[0008] A system for sovereign knowledge node authorisation comprising one or more processors and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions to execute the method of claim 1.
